Julie's love for riding began at the age of 10. In 6th Grade she saved up enough money mowing grass, to purchase her first horse for $300.00.  Her Father worked hard to ensure she attended any and all shows, racking up ribbons and trophies until she was about 16. Her love for horses and riding then evolved and became her career path. She moved on to race horses and exercising horses for various trainers at the Bowie Race Course. After Graduating she made a move to Ocala Fl, where she worked for one of the biggest equine facilities on the east coast, Peterson and Smith Equine. Once she moved back to Maryland she acquired her trainer's license and trained race horses full time. Her love for teaching children led to her decision to open Eagles Nest equestrian Center, located in Hollywood MD. Julie's dreams are being fulfilled, teaching children horsemanship and to ride. She truly believes a child with good horsemanship skills will not only become a better horseman but a better person all around.
